TKO Helping HandsTurn Kindness On

Great American Bake SaleMay 17, 2009

Nationally, more than 12 million children at risk of hunger. Funds raised through First Neighborhood Day Camp and TKO Helping Hands’ Great American Bake Sale were used to ensure America’s most vulnerable children – those living in poverty and at risk of hunger get the regular, healthy meals they need.

On June 20, TKO Helping Hands joined forces with First Neighborhood Day Camp to host a bake sale as part of Share Our Strength’s Great American Bake Sale, a national campaign that mobilizes Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities.

All baked goods were either donated by local bakeries or baked by TKO members and FNDC staff, and in an effort to go green, it was a BYOC (Bring Your Own Container) event! The bake sale raised over $400 and helped TKO spread the word about how to turn kindness on around the community by giving back.
